Bruxism

Bruxism is excessive grinding of the teeth that mostly occurs at night. The affected patients often complain about tension in the area of the jawbone and the masticatory muscles. In addition to the abrasion of the teeth, this condition leads to marked tensions up to the enlargement of the masticatory muscles. The cause is mostly in stress processing during the night. Different therapy options are available (track therapy, botulinum toxin injections, TENS ...). However, it is important to reduce stress and avoid chewing gum.
